The AASB and AUASB had a tight deadline, needing to relocate in quick time from one premises to the next. Planning involved consolidating the two groups onto a single floor, combining shared zones but, with each having their own profile and identity.
A traditional build was delivered with offices located off the glass. Existing furniture was re-used in the back of house space. The configuration of internal offices, meeting spaces, circulation paths and open plan was worked to accommodate their existing loose furniture.
Workstations played out the balance of the space and were located around the core. Fabrics complemented the rich and warm internal wall colours.
he reception and meeting rooms were laid out asymmetrical to draw visitors to the waiting area from lobby and to generate interest. The use of bulkheads and linear slot lighting emphasises these angular elements.
The meeting rooms were designed to feature timber veneer, pendant lighting and ochre coloured carpet. The breakout being one of the shared zones, is vibrant with splashes of red to highlight the crisp use of white finishes.
The client moved in on schedule and within the budgetary framework.
